FEMCO throws a big party for its 60th birthday

This year(2009), the most historical machinery company in Taiwan, Far East Machinery Corporation, celebrates its 60th anniversary with various activities within the company for an whole year. Arranging monthly activities including the FEMCO tree planting day, the basket ball contest, the hiking day, the industry family day, the celebrity speeches, and the memorial day is to bring the staff together and show the diverse sides of it.

The Chairman of FEMCO, Mr. K. H. Chuang, led the hundreds of employees to Chiayi Ya-Dong Farm on 14th March to hold its tree planting day as the kick-off of the 60th anniversary celebration.”With the concern of global warming problems, we hope FEMCO could make an effort to improve the environment by planting trees. In addition, planting trees represents the flourishing future for the next 60 years” says Mr. K. H. Chuang. On 2nd May, FEMCO hold a garden party as the industry family day in Chiayi Nikaido and arranged various outdoor competitions for the staff to participate as well as perk up the lively atmosphere .On the same day, Mr. K. H. Chuang urged the faculty to fight the financial recession together. Moreover, in order to unite the faculty, a BBQ party participated by over than 600 people was brought up on 14th November. The activity also included rolling the giant sushi bar by 60 people giving the party a significant meaning of union.

The biggest celebration party fell on 12th December and was held in Hou-hu plant. To reach the climax of the series of 60th anniversary celebration, numerous activities were held vigorously during that day, including the plants tour, the historical hall visit, the Taiwanese delicacies banquet,the street dance show, and the BMX extreme-bike show. The party was theme with the night-market culture in Taiwan with the traditional red fabric decoration all over the main stage. Furthermore, FEMCO shoot off the splendid fireworks show to end up the party with wishing it a prosperous future. Moreover, the 60th anniversary brochure gifted as the souvenir that day records the 60 years history of FEMCO including the significant engineering projects and the classic machines. The content is sorted by one decade, intending to portrait the background of the foundation, the take off of the grand business empire, the prosperity, and the struggle by story-telling.
