Established in 1949, originating in Chiayi, Taiwan, and initially named "Far East Rim Works". Founder Mr. C. M. Chuang kickstarted the development of FEMCO with a yo-yo. The company navigated through Taiwan's most severe hyperinflation, witnessing Taiwan's transformation and industrial development.

In 1964, the enterprise was renamed "Far East Machinery Co., LTD." It has been over 70 years since its establishment, providing products and services to a wide range of international clients. Providing a wide range of products and services to a diverse international clientele, the business scope includes pipes and tubes, engineering and construction, machine tools, and golf shafts.

C. M. Chuang

Mr. C. M. Chuang is acclaimed as a "Artist of industrial design genius". His educational journey in Chiayi and Tainan during his student years had a significant impact on his educational achievements, nurturing his talent in mechanical design and laying a solid foundation for his future.

 

In 1949, he founded "Far East Rim Works", the perdecessor of FEMCO. He purchasing waste oil drums to design, produce, and sell bicycle wheel rims. Due to the excellent strength of the wheel rims, they gained market recognition and enjoyed a surge in reputation.

Subsequently, he established a machinery factory and developed high-frequency resistance welding pipe technology, expanding into the production of large-caliber and spiral pipes, among other factory equipment. Throughout the development process, he dedicated himself to researching and developing higher-quality machinery equipment. He successfully developed oil industry pipes compliant with API certification, becoming the first enterprise in Taiwan to receive certification honors.

In 1970, he created a horizontal boring and milling machine that met the precision standards set by the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), establishing himself as a "pioneer in the development of boring machines in Taiwan".

 

Mr. C. M. Chung fulfilled his corporate social responsibility by actively participating in various social activities and making significant contributions to promote sustainable development in society. This included serving as the Chairman of the Chiayi Boai Home, a member of the Volunteer Police Force, and an advisor to the Chiayi County and City Industrial Association.

● In 1957, he donated fifty thousand dollars to build a new classroom for Chung-Wen Elementary School (now renovated).

● In 1962, he was commended by the government as an exemplary family.

● In 1963, he was honored as a "Honorable Manager" by the China Productivity and Trade Center.

● In 1964, he was appointed as the 10th President of the Rotary Club of Chiayi.

● In 1973, he was awarded the "Ten Outstanding Entrepreneurs".

● In 1963, he was honored as a "Honorable Manager" by the China Productivity and Trade Center.

● In 1975, he donated a clock landmark to the Chiayi Fountain Tower.

● In 1986, he served as the second President of the Chiayi Middle School Alumni Association.

 

Mr. C. M. Chung demonstrated profound concern for society and made outstanding contributions to its progress and development, leading FEMCO to even greater heights of excellence and international recognition.
